Live Construction Project – Ashley House PLC
Posted on 23 May 2019
An exciting project has opened up for Pacy & Wheatley Construction to design and build an 80-bed care home on the outskirts of picturesque, historic York.
Our client Ashley House PLC, have appointed us to incorporate our wealth of experience of healthcare building design, construction and refurbishment into their modern and efficient care home facility, suitable for today's needs.
The project with a 'very good' BREEAM requirement will form part of a planned programme of development by City of York Council that will also include a library with community facilities, sports centre with pitches, and a residential development.
To avoid the typical clinical 'box look' design, the care home will be constructed with varying height levels, luxury roof terraces overlooking the courtyard, and will boast a wide range of easy-to-use facilities to assist in the care services given by the end user. Communal areas will allow residents to socialise with families and visitors in comfort, the incorporation of nursing amenities will enable their job to carried out with ease, and the inclusion of a kitchen, dining area, spa and and hair salon will add luxury and comfort for the residents.
Because the project site is located within the vicinities of a residential area, Community Centre, School and Children's Club, the site team will have to ensure optimal security and safety throughout the design and construction process, and neighbours to receive minimal disruption.
