Project Description
Pacy and Wheatley completed a Design and Build project in Dewsbury. The works briefly comprised of a steel framed extension, including steel tubular piled foundations, suspended RC slab, brickwork/blockwork, roof and wall cladding, mechanical and electrical installations. Minor fit-out and finishes works were also undertaken.
The Challenge
Achieving a suitable and value engineered foundation design to overcome the building footprint occupying the site of an old railway embankment.
Installing 82 tonnes of steel reinforcement bar into the Ground bearing slab within limited time scales.
Working in close proximity and under confined conditions to existing manufacturing facility, ensuring the factory remained operational at all times.
Achieving a tight program.
The Solution
82 Tonnes of rebar were installed in rapid time, by utilising the technology of Pre-Fabricated Reinforcement carpets
Close liaison with the client’s management staff to ensure daily manufacturing operations were not affected.
Close liaison with the client and design team ensured that hidden problems were quickly overcome with solutions.

Project completed within 14 weeks, including temporary facilities.
Zero defects at handover.
98% waste removed from site was recovered for recycling.
