Pacy and Wheatley completed an Educational Construction project in Grimsby; which encompassed an extension to a school for students aged between 11-19. The extension consisted of a new fitness suite for both staff and student use and further office space for staff use. The project was traditionally built over a programme of 12 weeks.
Limited space for storage and restricted access to the site.
Ensuring the health and safety of staff and pupils at all times.
Delivering the project on schedule due to a challenging 12 week programme.
Dealing with unforeseen services during the creation of the foundations.
Minimising the risk to other contractors requiring access through our site.
Systematic planning was required to ensure deliveries arrived on site in a timely manner, not to cause delays to the programme. A methodical plan was designed to enable access for deliveries due to the extremely restricted access. This forward planning ensured the safety of pupils with deliveries being made during lesson times.
To further reinforce the safety of pupils, fencing was erected to secure the site and prevent access for unauthorised people. A procedure was put in place to ensure the safety of operatives gaining access to another site through our compound. Constant communication with the contractor further helped to establish safe passage through the site.
Achieving delivery of the project on time and eliminating all obstacles throughout the project to assure this.
The project was completed within budget.
Zero Health and Safety issues on site.
Ensuring staff and pupil safety was paramount at all times.
The project manager kept our office and the client well informed of progress. They were highly responsive to any query that arose and offered quick solutions for any issues. The project was completed on time, to budget and to a very high standard. We will have no hesitation in recommending Pacy & Wheatley to any future client.
