Project Description
Pacy and Wheatley Construction have completed an extensive education refurbishment and alterations to a central Leeds primary school as part of our commitments on the Yorbuild 2 framework. The works involved a complete interior refurbishment of 5nr classrooms, 4nr toilets, 1 nr kitchen and 1nr staff room. We also completed external works, altering the reception area space of the primary school.
The Challenge
The project planning and programme were critical to the success of this scheme, as the project had to be completed within a tight timeframe. The classroom spaces all had to be started and completed within the 6-week school summer holiday period.
Working closely with the both the school, Leeds council and lead designers have been paramount to ensuring we deliver the employers requirements and in the timescales required to allow a successful handover.
The Solution
Regular Employer/Contractor meetings held on Site, ensured that timely decision making was achieved to assist in this tight construction programme/period.
Further liaising directly with the Management Team allowed for us to continue with our works whilst the school remained fully operational.
Weekend and out of normal hours work was conducted to ensure the stringent deadlines were met, and the project was completed on time.
