Project Description

Pacy & Wheatley Construction have completed another Care Home Refurbishment in Stockton-On-Tees for repeat client, Barchester. The project involved a wide-ranging restoration to the 50-bed Care Centre facility, including alterations to the already existing reception, greeting spaces, selected bedrooms/bathrooms and the kitchen/dining areas.

The final outcome is an interior overhaul with new flooring covers, fresh decorative aspects, ceramic tiling to all bathrooms and plumbing and electrical furnishings upgrades and renewals throughout, in accordance with the Client’s WOW specification.

The works were part of our Client’s ‘WOW’ framework to improve the overall aesthetic vision of a vast array of the Companies’ Care facilities, nationally.

The Challenge

The Centre remained in full occupancy, throughout the project, therefore, consideration was ensured to all Residents, Staff and Visitors - with the objective of zero disruption to the services provided by the centre.

The location of the Home is in a built up residential area, in the busy village of Billingham, therefore where possible, deliveries were organised for quieter periods of the day to avoid delays to the programme and to minimise any potential disturbances to the local residents.

The Solution & Key Achievements

All works were conducted in collaboration and coordination with the Centre’s Employees and daily activities of the Residents, to ensure a smooth transition through the project.
