Pacy and Wheatley completed a Healthcare Construction project in Derbyshire which involved a three bedroom extension and refurbishment of a care home catering for adults with mental health problems. The project was carried out in two phases. The first was to create three new bedrooms which were then occupied on handover. Once completed the second phase, which consisted of the refurbishment of existing rooms could then be carried out.
Ensuring the safety of the residents at all times.
Keeping disruption to the residents to a minimum as the building was occupied at all times.
Keeping the building water tight as a section of the roof required removing to facilitate roof alterations.
Restricted access to some areas of work.
Key to the successful delivery of this project was exceptional communication with Field House staff. This allowed for the seamless flow of work to be carried out, with the minimum discomfort caused to residents.
Extra attention was required with regards to segregation as residents required access through areas of work. This was achieved through timing agreed with staff and planned within the programme.
Exceptional standard of product delivered resulted in the client’s satisfaction and zero defects.
High standard of health and safety ensured zero incidents on site.
Outstanding planning allowed for a seamless handover over from phase one to phase two.
Excellent communication between all parties ensured the comfort of residents throughout the project.
‘I have worked closely with Pacy and Wheatley Construction over a number of years with different Health Care organisations, ranging from residential elderly to low secure mental health. In that time Pacy and Wheatley have delivered numerous successful projects ranging from intricate refurbishments of operational facilities with complex user groups, through to delivery of major developments on complex brown field sites. The projects have always been delivered to expectation. The customer service, understanding of our user groups and ability to deliver projects within complex operational constraints has cemented a long standing working relationship between the organisations I have worked with and Pacy and Wheatley. I would recommend them to any serious healthcare development organisation.’
