Beautiful Healthcare Building, Towcester
Posted on 8 October 2018
Set amongst vast, beautiful landscape gardens with stunning countryside views, Pacy & Wheatley Construction have completed a new build, 47-bed care home in Towcester, Northamptonshire. As one of the UK's leading healthcare construction companies, this new care home is in a beautiful rural location, allowing residents the space and environment to relax and enjoy themselves.
The new care home is built alongside a lovely old stone-built period property and surrounded by landscape gardens, providing a fantastic location for residents to relax in peace and enjoy the open countryside. The building itself is beautiful, and traditionally constructed, with unique, large, larch-framed windows and timber ventilated shutters.
Located on the ground floor of the care home is the entrance and reception, as well as the communal dining area. The ground and first floors also house the facility's admin spaces, welcoming communal day spaces and the resident bedrooms and facilities. We also constructed a basement area for staff facilities.
The project took place in an isolated site, in a rural location in Towcester, Northamptonshire. Along with excessive tree restrictions in the grounds which needed to be worked within, this presented challenges regarding site access and build logistics. Our team also had to ensure no disruptions were made to the existing care facilities, which were adjacent to our site.
Agreeing timed deliveries in planned, suitable vehicles in meetings with the key suppliers endured the location and restricted access did not cause a problem to the works. We also held regular meetings with the home and segregation to ensure we minimised disruptions to the daily running of the existing home. We also completed all works in close communication with the planning arboriculturalist and contractor to ensure we worked within the strict tree regulations.
We're incredibly proud of the work completed on this 47-bed care home in Northamptonshire. We worked closely with the client, design team and supply chain. This allowed us to deliver the original vision of the project. The finished product is an incredibly beautiful care home surrounded by landscaped gardens and open countryside.
