New Care Home Construction Liverpool
Posted on 29 August 2023
Pacy & Wheatley recently completed our second project with Montpelier Estates Ltd., constructing a care home facility in Prescot in Merseyside. The task was to build a 2-storey specialist care home facility on the grounds of an existing care home. We addressed the challenge of building the construction into a hillside, meanwhile ensuring that all services and access were maintained for the existing facility throughout the project.
The new building consists of a lower ground floor and an upper floor, which feature concrete single-ply roof detail with a feature skylight. An eco garden roof finishes the exterior structure for an aesthetic and environmentally friendly look, while bronze feature cladding and render panels bring some modernity to the traditional red brick.
The facility includes sizable bedrooms, each of which has an ensuite bathroom, personal living and downing area, and a kitchenette. Communal spaces on each floor include recreational areas, quiet rooms, a meeting room, laundry space, and a secure isolation room. Disabled parking and secured recreational gardens provide essential amenities and recreational spaces.
Pacy & Wheatley had the challenge of carrying out extensive excavation and other time-consuming elements to prepare for construction. Plenty of time was allowed to complete all necessary work and ensure it was done to a high standard. We always communicated closely with facilities management to minimise disruption and maintain access. We always put public safety first, meaning delivery during school start and finish times was not allowed.
