Pacy and Wheatley construction were delighted to have been appointed to another Horizon Healthcare construction project in Huddersfield at Long Hill Road Care Home. On a busy road adjacent to a shopping centre with schools located in the area, the project consisted of the demolition of an old public house and erection of a 12 bed care facility to provide a new home with fantastic living conditions for people with learning difficulties and disabilities. The project was upon a design and build basis with a tight 26 week program set. The facility was to have large lounges, kitchen and social areas together with specialist sensory facilities and a platform lift to 1st floor accommodation.
The Challenge

The Solution
Health and safety paramount site compound secured with solid hoardings to ensure no entry to unauthorised persons.
Competent design team lead and co-ordinated thoroughly by ourselves to ensure passing of information to ensure design required and information timely.
In house staff utilised for the project whom have a relationship with the client and have previous experience of these structures.
Ensure as much of the underground works were complete to gain time at the rear of the program to ensure a quality project delivery.
Ensure the timber frame design and was erected and closed in to any elements as soon as possible to ensure works could continue internally.
The facility opened on time as we achieved routes into the building which was complete.
Compiling a comprehensive programme which was monitored throughout the scheme and updated upon a regular basis.
Team meetings with supply chain to discuss any areas of slight failings and areas improvement could be made.
