Project Description
Pacy and Wheatley are pleased to have completed a healthcare construction project in Humberston. We were appointed by our client- HC One- to undertake full refurbishments & external improvements of a number of rooms across 3 phases as part of their ongoing framework, within the 48 bed care home providing various elements of care to its residents.
The Challenge
Ensuring that works in the occupied home and corridors are undertaken with no negative impact or disruption to the residents.
Managing the refurbishment process and demolition works to ensure we are sympathetic to the home, its residents & visitors.
Phasing the works to ensure that the home has adequate facilities within each area and floor to avoid any loss of service to the residents.
The Solution
In order to allow the works to progress with no disruption to the residents, we ensured that the work areas were fully segregated from the occupied residential areas of the home.
Throughout the refurbishment works we put in place a policy of daily communication with the home manager and ward managers. This allowed them to communicate on a daily basis the planned works to all residents, staff and visitors.
We also worked closely with the home management team to ensure sufficient time and notice was given prior to commencing any noisy works.
The works were phased following close co-ordination with the home and estates team- to ensure that facilities were considered to ensure minimum day space and sanitary facilities were maintained.
Key Achievements
Significant improvements to the day spaces & sanitary facilities for the home giving a fresh, quality appearance.
A very well received open day that featured in the local press with glowing reports and feedback from those in attendance on the improvements and quality of finishes.
Worked closely with the client during revised scoping meetings- as the works progressed- to ensure that the homes and clients wish list was met
Testimonials
"I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and your team personally for assisting Clarendon Hall over the weekend in preparation for the Open Day on Monday, 5 December 2016. I understand you were unable to attend the opening in person, so I am very pleased to report it was a great success. Feedback has been very complimentary with regards to the quality of workmanship, a result of the hard work by Mark and his team. Providing the kindest care to our residents is very important and requires some flexibility which we recognize and greatly appreciate."

"I was very pleased to be invited to see the refurbishment and I must say I was very impressed, it was almost like walking into a five-star hotel. The layout and the choice of colours were wonderful, and I was hugely impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the very welcoming atmosphere that they had created there."
