Project Description
Pacy & Wheatley Construction have been appointed a Care Home Refurbishment in Northallerton for our repeat client, Barchester. The Clientâs instructions included an extensive refurbishment and renovation programme to numerous rooms within the Home; Dining Room, CafĂ© Lounge, TV Lounge, multiple Bedrooms with En-suite(s), Assisted WC and Bathroom, communal Corridors and relaxation areas have all received upgrades and modern new carpets/vinyl flooring, decoration, tiling and mechanical/sanitary-ware elements (where applicable), alongside alternative electrical layouts and new fixtures and fittings.
The Challenge
The parking facilities at the Care Home are relatively limited. Our works were required to coincide with the necessities of the Home; from expected deliveries to the need for emergency services, at any time
The Care provider, along with our Site Teamâs cooperation, delivered the necessary requirements of the Residents with minimal disruption to their daily routines and duties.
High importance is always placed on our Health and Safety regime and close cooperation was essential.
The Solution/Key Achievements
Due to the extent of our works, the Site Team communicated with the Home on a daily basis to ensure all persons were aware of our activities for that day and the up coming week.
Testimonials
âI wanted to send this email to thank you and your whole team for the exceptional management and work at Mount Vale throughout the WOW project. I think that your whole team; with their strong work ethic, attention to detail and sensitivity to the needs and culture of our Care Home did Pacy & Wheatley great credit and produced an exceptional output, with a wholesale refurb of the ground floor, partial first floor and creation of 2 superb new rooms along the way.
Issues were resolved with minimal disruption to the home and absorbed within the programme through adapting phasing and increasing workforce to compensate. In addition, Pacy & Wheatley made relationships with staff and residents (leading to two separate feedback emails from Barchester staff) and thoroughly supported home operations from working out of hours when needed, moving furniture around the home and supporting the fit outâ
Joel Turner, Property Development Manager for Barchester Healthcare
âGreat effort and result by all.
Quoting his team member, leading the Employers Agent team â âthis was probably the best project he (Joel) had been involved with to date, and it just shows what care, attention to detail and good communication can achieve in these (sometimes difficult) projectsâ
Mark Bennett â Director of Property Services for Barchester Healthcare
âJust a note to say what a fabulous âWOWâ the team created at Mount Vale. I was always proud to show people around the home, but now it looks wonderful. The Site Manager for Pacy & Wheatley did a fantastic job here and I cannot fault his professional attitude to the task. The project was completed within the 3 months target even though the Dining Room floor caused unexpected problems. He was always around making sure everything went smoothly and if there were any problems they were addressed immediately. I am happy for you to pass on my thanks to him and his teamâ
Helen Lewis, General Manager at Mount Vale Care Home
âJust to say I was in Mount Vale today and one of the Residents had some lovely feedback in regards to the WOW team, especially in regards to Pacy & Wheatleyâs Site Manager. He stated how âprofessionalâ he was, âcommunication was excellentâ, and that what a âpleasure it has been to have such a dedicated committed personâ. Just thought it was nice to feedback the positive. The home looks lovelyâ
