Project Description
Pacy and Wheatley have successfully completed an Interior Refurbishment project in Pontefract. A Phased refurbishment for our repeat customer HC One to provide improvements to various dayrooms, bedrooms, sanitary facilities, external & communal spaces. We are pleased to have been appointed by our client, HC One, to undertake full refurbishments & external improvements of a number of rooms across 3 phases within the 72 bed care home providing various elements of care to its residents.
The Challenge
Ensuring that works in the occupied home and corridors are undertaken with no negative impact or disruption to the residents.
Managing the refurbishment process and demolition works to ensure we are sympathetic to the home, its residents & visitors.
Phasing the works to ensure that the home has adequate facilities within each area and floor to avoid any loss of service to the residents.
The Solution
In order to allow the works to progress with no disruption to the residents, we ensured that the work areas were fully segregated from the occupied residential areas of the home.
Throughout the interior refurbishment works we put in place a policy of daily communication with the home manager and ward managers. This allowed them to communicate on a daily basis the planned works to all residents, staff and visitors.
We also worked closely with the home management team to ensure sufficient time and notice was given prior to commencing any noisy works.
The works were phased following close co-ordination with the home and estates team to ensure that facilities were considered to ensure minimum day space and sanitary facilities were maintained.
Key Achievements
Significant improvement to the day space & sanitary facilities, resulting in a high quality and fresh appearance.
Worked closely with the client during revised scoping meetings, as the works progressed, to ensure that the homes and clients wish list was met.
