Care Home Construction, Cheshire

Pacy & Wheatley worked on the construction of a care home in Cheshire, delivering a new building with 20 bedrooms and various facilities.
Pacy & Wheatley recently completed the construction of a new care home in Cheshire, featuring 20 individual bedrooms with ensuites, a visitors' suite, and activity, therapy, and quiet lounge areas. The building also includes separate lounge and dining areas on each floor, as well as a commercial catering kitchen and laundry. The project has resulted in high-quality facilities to serve the local community in Whitby, Ellesmere Port.
This project involved the development of a brownfield site with existing services. Several challenges were addressed, including ground contamination and limited access to the site due to its position on a busy road. Additionally, it was necessary to work around the fact that the site was close to a preschool and maintain safety for children and parents during deliveries and work on-site. The project also required our team to work safely under Covid-19 regulations and restrictions.
The team worked to a defined time frame, which was used to minimise disruption and prevent congestion during deliveries. We kept in communication with the local community to ensure they were aware of the ongoing work, including delivery times and times when greater levels of noise were to be expected. Staff from Pacy & Wheatley, site managers, and subcontractors all worked together to manage Covid-19 safety measures.
We involved the local school and community to ensure surrounding residential properties were taken into consideration when designing outdoor lighting. Building-mounted, column, and low-level bollards were chosen to meet all requirements. We made use of acoustics perimeter fencing to control noise levels during construction.
